“When we say things like “people don’t change” it drives scientists crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It’s always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It’s the way people try not to change that’s unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that’s up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.”—
“I love that you get cold when it is 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”—When Harry Met Sally
He has undergone the grueling process of applying to the state police academy. Out of almost 4000 people, he placed 163 on the exam…that alone is a huge accomplishment. He has so much potential and drive he is going to make something big of himself one day. I am so proud to call him my best friend, boyfriend, soul mate. I brag when I tell people what he is doing with his life, because no one is more proud than me. He does not give himself enough credit and will always think he could have done better. His modesty is what makes him successful. He never gives up, he never backs down.
I love you so much & I’m extremely proud of everything you do / have done.
“People think dreams aren’t real just because they aren’t made of matter, of particles. Dreams are real. But they are made of viewpoints, of images, of memories and puns and lost hopes.”—Neil Gaimann, The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
